Would love to tell you a little bit about myself.
I live in Jacksonville, Florida where it is sunny most of the time with my husband, Stan, my cat Max,
my dog Prince Charles Edward Albert the III,
Chas for short and an adorable little mouse
named Bob.
I have done to many things along the way to get where I am now. I have a Degree in Elementary School Education, taught Kindergarten. I owned a soft sculpture doll business "Blessed Events" and my dolls sold nationally. I was an invited featured artist to show and sale my dolls at
Walt Disney World. Mickey Mouse is one of my best buds now ;-).
I owned an Antique and Arts and Craft Shoppe, Miss Mayme's, oversaw the operation of The Beaches Arts and Crafts Gallery, a non- profit gallery that supported the operation of the senior citizens
Dial-A-Ride Van. After selling my doll company I became involved in Real Estate for the next 20 years.
During this time I designed a line of greeting cards for
Coldwell Banker Real Estate, newsletter and comic strip for Centex Homes, newspaper ads and flyer design for many New Home Builders and Real Estate Agents along with painting many a mural in model homes. After retiring from a long and successful Real Estate I was able to pursue my next career. I am now a full time Artist/Illustrator and own Mayleen E. Johnson and Co. I have illustrated numerous children's books for both publishers and authors and I love it.
